Girls is an American television series that began airing on HBO on April 15, 2012. Created by Lena Dunham, Girls is a comedy series that follows the lives of a close group of twenty-somethings as they chart their lives in New York City. The show’s premise and major aspects of the main character were inspired by some of Dunham’s real-life experiences.
Lena Dunham as Hannah Horvath: an aspiring writer in her early twenties living in Greenpoint, Brooklyn whose parents cut her off financially. She unintentionally quits her unpaid internship after her request to be paid is denied.
