In 1959,she fall in with the man of her dreams; an Italian film producer called ” Carlo Ponti “. When she was 15, he was 37 years old which means there were ” 22 years between them”. But their age gap was not their biggest problem, Carlo Ponti was married to his first wife Giuliana; at that time Italy law won’t allow divorce, they got married anyways in 1957. But then IN 1962, they annulled it and escaped away for any bigamy charges in. Carlo and his first wife got divorced in France in 1966 at the last,so Sofia and Carlo were allowed to get married offically and they did. They had 2 children togather.
